City
Palace
It is one of
the best places to visit in Udaipur. It was build over a period of nearly 400
years, with contributions from several rulers of the Mewar dynasty. Its
construction began in 1553, started by Maharana
Udai Singh of the Sisodia Rajput family as he shifted his capital from the
Chittorgarh to Udaipur. In present time it is under the control of Maharana
Arvind Singh Mewar.
Jagdish Temple
Jagdish Temple is a large Hindu temple in the
middle of Udaipur, just outside the City Palace. It has been in continuous
worship since 1651. A big tourist attraction, the temple was originally called
the temple of Jagannath Rai but is now called Jagdish Temple. It is a major
monument in Udaipur.
Lake Palace
Lake palace (formally known as Jag Niwas) is a
former summer palace of the royal dynasty of Mewar, it is now turned into a
hotel. The Lake Palace is located on the island of Jag Niwas in Lake
Pichola,Udaipur. It is popularly described as the Venice of the East, Udaipur
hosts the pristine Lake Palace, curated out of white marble.
Saheliyon Ki Bari
Saheliyon Ki Bari is a major garden and a popular
tourist place in Udaipur in the Indian state of Rajasthan. It lies in the
northern part of the city and has fountains and kiosks, a lotus pool and marble
elephants. It was built by Rana Sangram
Singh. It is one of the largest garden in the city. Lots of tourists
comes to visit here and they love it.
Moti Magri
Moti Magri is a hill
in India. It overlooks the Fateh Sagar Lake in the city of Udaipur, Rajasthan.
At the top of Moti Magri is the memorial of the Rajput hero Maharana Pratap, which has a bronze
statue of Maharana riding his favourite horse Chetak.
Shilp Gram
Shilpgram is
a rural arts and craft comples, situated in the west of the city of Udaipur,
Rajasthan. The centre is spread over about 70 acres of land, surrounded by the
Aravali mountains. It has a big fair in the month of December known as
Shilpgram Utsav, a unique festival of folk culture in Udaipur. At the fair time
many artists and musicians comes from different states Rajasthan, Gujarat, Goa
and Maharashtra.
There are
